Benefits and Work has published a directory of disability and health condition groups to support readers.
We have published details of over 240 groups, with links to their websites and contact details for each. The information was obtained from the Charity Commission’s register and from web searches.
You can search the directory by disability or health condition, organisation name, A-Z or by a range of different categories.
At the moment we are particularly recommending that readers use it to identify organisations that cover their disability or health condition, in order to contact them about the Timms review. You could ask them, for example:
- whether they have been asked to take part in the Timms Review;
- if not, will they be making it clear to users of their service that they were not asked;
- whether they are concerned about possible changes to PIP;
- whether they will campaign publicly if proposed changes could leave people worse off;
- whether they would like you to share your own experience of claiming PIP and your concerns about possible changes; and
- if you are comfortable doing so, whether you could help as a case study for their campaigning, research or media work.
