I have sent a note to appeals asking for the Statement of reasons for our records, but saying i do not intent to dispute the decision. I am not good on the phone, so might also write a note to DWP with copy of the decision notice just in case it has gone missing or something.

Contact the Tribunal Service and withdraw the request immediately!!!!

The DWP will receive a copy of the SoR as well and this gives them an opportunity to appeal the Decision which they may not have done otherwise.

Is it possible to obtain the SoR at a later stage, for example by a Freedom of Info request?

I'm afraid not, the SoR is only produced by the Judge if requested by the claimant or the DWP following the hearing.
