PIP was designed to be harder to get than DLA so even though you have experienced a deterioration in your conditions that does not mean that you will have necessarily received a higher award.

You should have received a copy of the Decision Makers reasons for the Decision, this should give you some indication oh how the Decision was made, you can request a copy of the assessors report, this will explain things in more detail.

Do you believe that you can reasonably score the extra point that you need for a DL Enhanced award?

What did you score the four points for Mobility for, Going Out or Moving Around? If the former then you may struggle to score the extra points for an award, you will need to show that you cannot go out. If the latter then you need to show that your walking is restricted to at most 50m.

The first stage to challenging a Decision is for you to request a Mandatory Reconsideration, this needs to be done in writing to the DWP, within one month of the Decision, to the office that dealt with your claim, have a look at our PIP MR & Appeal guide for details of the process, the PIP area also has template letters that you can use to make the request with.
