Hi An ex nurse,

Thank you for your reply. I have informed the GP surgery of my new situation and hopefully this may enhance my chances.

Here's hoping,

Phrank.

Just take it one day at a time and let it play out for now. I appreciate that is easier said than done as the uncertainty is very draining.

All good wishes to you[/quote]

Hi all,

I've decided I am putting in writing for a formal appeal against having a telephone assessment as opposed to a paper-based one.

There is absolutely no need as nothing has really changed since my last assessment.

I don't know if this is normal practice - but what have I got to lose?

I am sending it directly to the DWP and they can either act on it or send it to the assessment provider.

I have been given the go ahead to mention my CPN as she phoned me yesterday if they need to get in touch with any health professionals over this other than my GP surgery. I have already written to my MP.

I'll keep you posted on how I get on.

Regards,

Phrank.

There is no right of appeal over whether an assessment is done over the phone or on paper as it is not a benefit Decision just an administrative one.

A better course of action would be for you to involve your MP.

Hi, go for it Phrank, you have nothing to lose as you say. The system is ridiculous and it is astounding to me that it has been allowed to continue for so long.
All good wishes

Hi an ex nurse and Gordon,

Thank you for your support, an ex nurse and thank you for putting me straight on the legalities, Gordon.

Some years ago I was fighting an ESA appeal. A lady who informed me that I would have to claim JSA after an unsuccessful MR, felt so sorry for me she phoned me once a week to see how I was getting on. She even sent me some reply envelopes together with a Christmas card.

The point I'm trying to make is that they are not all ogres at the DWP and my reasoning is that surely it can't hurt to at least tell them about my encounter last Friday with IAS?

I have still not got back to 'normal' I was so stressed out making that phone call and that was only for a few minutes. Lord knows how I'd cope with a full assessment. The thought of it haunts me. I wake up dreading it and go to bed dreading it is and only this forum and the helpful comments within it keeps me going.

This all review business has completely taken over my life once again.

I have wriiten to my MP, I did that on Friday, and alerted my GP sugery that they could be in contact, so I think a well written letter telling them about my dealings with IAS and how that has affected me and mentioning that they can contact my CPN if need be can't do me any harm other than the cost of postage.

As they say: if you don't ask, you don't get get.

Kindest regards to all of you who continue to support me and advise me through what is now approaching a mental crisis.

Hi all,

Have just finished writing my letter. Posting it next-day-delivery tomorrow.

Obviously I've kept it fairly diplomatic, but have emphasised the fact that nothing much has changed sinced my last assessment as endorsed by my GP.

I cannot understand why this isn't good enough, unless because of me approaching state pension age they have plans to take the mobility component off me - or even all of it.

I've also given my CPN name and phone details and metioned I have written to my MP.

We'll see!

Regards,

Phrank.
