Nothing on this board constitutes legal advice - always consult a professional about specific problems

Faith
You can just ask the DWP for a copy of you ESA85 assessment report if you had a face to face or ESA85A if you did not this should show which Descriptors were recommended.

Hello again Gordon,
Sorry, I forgot to ask: Can I request the ESA85A by phone or will I have to write to the DWP about it?
Cheers

Hi Faith
Yes you can ask for a copy of the assessors report by phone although we usually advise that you should follow this request up in writing.

Hi Faith, I see that Catherine has posted a link for you.
I would do a SARS request for your ESA. The info will also be useful if you ever apply for PIP..
“Inability to mobilise” was my ESA criteria for ten years, but I never received a penny in mobility until 6 years later (once I had my ESA notes).

Hi Gary,
Thanks lots for your advice.
I recently spent a whole day writing a one page letter to the DWP (it took me an entire day because of my health problems), politely requesting clarification of my PIP review deadline. I sent the letter by Guaranteed Next Day delivery (which cost nearly £7) and it was received by the DWP on the 3rd of August but I still have not received any reply. I called the PIP help-line and the call handler could see my letter "on the computer system" so it did definitely reach them, they are just ignoring it. So, firstly, I still don't know when my deadline is and, secondly, I now feel there is no point in writing to the DWP because they simply won't reply. Therefore, today I looked into getting a solicitor to write a SAR letter re my ESA eligibility but that would cost about £1,000 (yes, a thousand quid for one letter).
Thanks lots for your advice.
