Hi Gary,

Thanks for your post. Actually I'd read that a while back for want of knowledge for a thirsty mind.

I told my friend on the phone today that he really does need to read and understand that post.

I will contact him tomorrow and see if he has done.

(He's not actually a member, but correct me if I'm wrong), I think it is viewable to non-members.

Regards,

Phrank.

Hi All,

It seems the ,assessor understood (or said they understood) his difficlulties but then did the dirty on him by saying he had no problems during the marathon assessment communicated well and showed no signs of anxiety or fatigue.

The truth was his wife propped him up; the assessor let her intervene frequently due to his difficulties but completely dismissed this in the report.

It is so, so difficult not to use the word 'lie', 'lies', or 'liar' in these circumstances but my experience tells me to avoid this and instead use suitable synonyms or phrases to get your point across.

Regards,

Phrank.

Hi phrank

I am not sure, to read any of the guides you have to be a member, I believe you can read forum posts but you may not be able to read some of the links that are put up to help members.

Hi phrank

you are quite right, it is hard to say the word lying or telling porkies even if you know it is true, I quite often say it is not based on facts. You quite often get a report that says no specialist input whereas you send in a supporting letter stating the claimant is waiting for an appointment to see a specialist.

I did one last week, we sent in a copy from the specialist stating that there was a very long waiting time to see a specialist but the claimant was added to the list as it was in their best interest to see a specialist.

Hi Gary,

I will let you know once he has got back in touch with me and see if he managed to read the link.

Yes, it is difficult to avoid the 'L' word. I just try to be as diplomatic as I can.

Hi phrank,
the 'L' word...I was just thinking about this, following a comment I have just written in another post. - Claimant 'coped well in assessment' but -as written in the comments box by the assessor - 'claimant was tearful, lacked eye contact (was a while ago when actual face to face appointments occurred) and spoke little'. I don't think the assessor was lying when he said the claimant coped well, but was just delusional, or didn't understand. I think it's like saying someone with a massive gash on their head, which is bleeding profusely 'will be fine, and doesn't need to go to hospital.' Most people will be reaching for their phone to get an ambulance, but here is one person who genuinely doesn't see the problem in front of them, and will never get it. Unfortunately this strange ignorance or even denial can be witnessed in some assessors. (And it is easier to prove delusion/ignorance etc than a deliberate untruth, so you don't need to refer to lies anyway!)

PS keep at it, don't keep up.
