Great to hear denby. Well I started my first claim in 2021, and by 2022, having lost at the original claim, then MR - I got someone to help me, who's known me for over 20 years, and has many degrees - she told me how to word things, rather than pulling on the heart strings with them, I had to word it about how things affect me both mentally and physically. Won at the courts with them saying that I have limited abilitys with both, and awarding me standard for both, plus a backdated lump sum - which I'm currently discussing with UC, as I got it over a year ago, so it's looking likely that my benefits may be reduced. I read that it's £5,000 for a year, or how long your PIP claim lasts that they can't take it into consideration, but with my PIP ending on 12th June, I fear I may have my UC reduced as I'm over the £6k still that is the minimum before you start having UC deducted. I'm contesting my PIP though, as none of my circumstances have changed, other than to be put on extra medication (Propranolol) - which to me says my situation has deteriorated, but I'll just have to wait and what happens. I'm so pleased I've still got some of the backlog of PIP award as trying to live on UC alone is just crazy. I'm already £50 a month down before I've shopped with UC, but I'll be damned if I'm going to get rid of my Cat - she's all I've got in life, and it's tough enough without the thought of losing her as well. Sorry, that was my little rant, as we do on these forums. Thank you again denby and so pleased you got your award! I will let you know my outcome as I'm at the MR stage atm with PIP but at the tribunal stage with UC. Take care.

Hi Chris
You hang onto your precious four-legged friend. I think a lot of people understand where you're coming from and what an important part they play in people's lives.
