I now have a copy of my UC85A Medical report form and note that even though medical evidence provided by my clinical nurse specialist confirmed my condition as "lifelong" the DWP assessor has recommended I be "re-referred in 18 months". It also appears that though I have complex health issues including a number of conditions that seriously, adversely affect my health and quality of life the report concentrates on only one condition and appears to disregard the others. Should this be of concern?

Hi Extraterrestrial

It would depend if the one condition covered the other conditions, if you are placed in the LCWRA group then I see no point in giving yourself extra stress as you will not gain from it.

Hi Extra Terrestrial,

They appear to have a very nasty habit of disregarding people's conditions, particularly when these conditions are spelled out to them as ''lifelong.'' When I am reassessed, I will put mine in caps. Maybe they get through their thick heads what the definition of life actually means. Even my doctor thinks they are idiots, so we are not alone.

No doubt you will be doing an MR to contest their games. Considering the people assessing are supposed to be 'qualified' in some form or another in a medical capacity, I am stunned they keep getting away with this.

Hi UB40 Rumrunner

The entitlement to the LCW element £146.31 was abolished from the 3rd April 2017 unless you were protected.

New claimants who were placed in the LCW group would not receive the LCW element.

Now I'm thoroughly confused.

Hi ExtraTerrestrial,

There's basically 3 groups - WRAG, LCW, LCWRA ( Work Related Activity Group, Limited Capability for Work, and Limited Capability for Work and Work Related Activity ).

They all have different commitment levels, but it's only LCWRA group in which you receive any additional money.

You'll usually get £390.06 extra each month (LCWRA). You'll usually start getting the extra money after 3 months.

LCW used to award extra but was stopped in 2017.

Does this help ?

Regards, Chris.
