Hi Chris ,

Just by way of update which may help others too. I picked up the Medical report in person from the GP .(after numerous calls and econ to chase the administrator for a response ๐Ÿ˜ฎโ€๐Ÿ’จ)
It turns out the medical report is outsourced . The lead practice Physician signs off on the invoice.
The IGPR Report looks like a data dump of sis NHS record -which is not ideal given sis history. ppl beware. tbh i couldnt read the printout i got without a magnifying glass!!๐Ÿ”๐Ÿ”Ž
i tried to talk to the GP today to see if a more customised report could be drafted to support the appeal. the response wasnt what i was hoping for , but may try again.

Have other people had same/alt experience of medical reports?

Hi Sum

When you get your medical report you have to be selective as to what you want to send in as some bits from a report may be counter productive, I usually just include any reports from consultants, if you have a rare condition then send in information from a support group about the condition and it's affects.

Hi Gary,

I understand and agree with your approach to providing medical evidence.๐Ÿ‘ i've already taken issue with the surgery about the quality and coherence of Sis NHS records ... i wouldnt rely on them to paint an accurate pic.

In this case , i was leading on the PIP claim on my sis behalf. however bec of family medical emergencies left right n centre i abandoned all hope of completing the appln in time. Neither of us were aware that the pip claim was progressing, regardless of a completed form, until GP contacted sis to say they've been asked to complete a PIP medical report.

I thought it was a mistake by the GP surgery๐Ÿ˜• We had more pressing matters to deal with at the time with family members in hospital.๐Ÿ˜ž if i had taken the GP call i would have probed more and put the brakes on out of cautionโ›” but sis took the call and unfortunately the rest is history .

Firstly my sympathies go out to you and your family for you lr loss and the pip disaster you are being put through. My daughter also got an assessment without pip2-if you have vunerability markers on your file-ie mental health or learning difficuties that mean you may find filling in the form difficult they can do this.
If you havent already ask for the assessment report and then use that to see what you can challenge. You will then get an appeal bundle-which is basically everything the dwp has ever written or received about the claimant-you can also use this in you appeal if you find furthrr points of contradiction as you are able to add evidence to you appeal after you have submitted it. The wait for an tribunal date is LOOOONNGGG so you will have plenty of time to add further evidence, you can go back as many times as you need to add adfitional evidence if you thinks it supports your appeal. Take your time, do a little a day and always come back here for help and support-use the guides and even if you dont haveca query or update and just need to vent someone will always be here with an understanding ear and words of support and comfort!
Good luck and keep going!!

Hi Astee,

Thank u for your kind words.

i have the assmt form.
i'm not sure about an 'appeal bundle' . Is that something specific i need to make a request for ?
i claimed UC for sis and she was awarded LWCA group after the HAAS Assmt. That's the only other evidence on file of relevance i believe. Should i refer to that in the appeal ?

When you say you can go back to the appeal and add evidence , doe sthat mean i add give minimum response now and flesh it out later ?
I am procrastinating abit bec i feel i am repeating myself again - ie the MR submission.
Thanks in advance peeps

Hi Sum

When you submit your appeal, you will eventually be sent an appeal bundle from the DWP with a copy of your papers and any reports the DWP have compiled.

Yes, you can submit an appeal giving them reasons why you are appealing, but you can continue to add information to your appeal papers up to two weeks before the appeal takes place. Better to get in your first attempt on time and then add to it - than miss the deadline. You can always say on it that more information will follow.
