PIP ends in April, new claim rather than AR1 route

Hi Boomer

The worse you feel on the day the better the chances you have on getting PIP, if you feel bright and sparky it may go against you, try to be you on the day and not take medication or red bull to pick you up for the assessment.

I know it sounds strange but feeling physically sick can be good, let us know how you get on.

Dear Boomer, I don't know and I'm not asking you to say, whether anxiety or similar is amongst your health issues. However, especially if it is, it would not hurt to make some diary notes about how the pre-assessment stress is making you feel, loss of sleep etc. Then you may wish to mention this in the assessment.
And next time you get the ear of your GP, let them know and ask for this to be put in the notes. Then if you want to ask for a paper based assessment in the future, it could help you get the GP to write the all-important letter saying it would cause "Overwhelming Psychological Distress" if they made you have a phone/face to face one again.
This may or may not be relevant, but you might feel empowered by your anger at what they are doing to you, having seen it in your own writing, if you need to argue later! or just feel better for getting it off your chest onto paper.
Best wishes with it all, Denby

Thank you for the further help. I was going to take a sedative but that is probably not a good idea for the reasons you mention.

May I ask, will the DWP email me the PA4 if I request, or is it posted via letter only?

Thanks as always.

Apologies, forgot to ask, to get the PA4 report do I call the DWP or IAS after 48 hours?

I believe it's the DWP but I can't seem to find their number on the paperwork, just IAS's number?

Thanks.

Hi Boomer,

For the PA4 you need to ring the DWP. Use the PIP helpline - 0800 121 4433. I have never heard of them emailing it out, although if that is your preference there is no harm in asking, particularly since it already exists electronically. If you do so, I would be interested to know what they say.

Thanks for Denby, Catherine for the further help and advice.

I'll be sure to let the forum know if they will email me the PA 4.
