Hello Boomer, and I am sorry to hear about the recommended scores on the PA4 form.
There are no guidelines about how long it will take the DM to view your particular case. Obviously the sooner you can get in your comments the better, but in your position I think I would give myself an absolute deadline of getting them off within a fortnight.
Yes certainly do the things you suggest.
I don't know if you have done this, but I would include a copy of the tribunal's decision. Assuming that it is so, you need to say that your condition has not changed since then and respectively request that the Decision Maker takes this into consideration, and if they do not consider that you should be given the same award they explain why.
I wish you success in getting the correct award! (and no need to post the detailed scores

Hi Boomer, you're welcome. I post about this a lot because it made all the difference to our daughter's third and most recent claim. Everything Catherine says I would totally back. My take on how to tackle it is this. Make yourself a nice cuppa. Find a highlighter pen or two and your copy assuming you have one of what you sent in. Work through the PA4 steadily -if it panics you, mark where you stopped and take a break. Mark whatever is plain wrong, where things are missing, or twisted. [Eg " moderate pain relief" when it is actually medication for severe pain came up in daughter's one. I squashed that with a page from the NHS website as extra evidence]. Then write your letter, coldly and factually attending to each descriptor, referring to your evidence for each one where the report is flawed. You cannot avoid accusing the assessor of getting it wrong but IMHO it is best to keep your wording as neutral as possible. Eg 'the assessor appears not to have considered Document x which demonstrates that I cannot y'
Hope this helps, go for it and good luck,
Denby

Thank you for the further assistance above, Catherine and denby.
Finally got my head to the point of writing up the issues I should raise with the decision maker. May I ask a few specific questions please?
As this letter is not requesting a MR whom in the DWP should it be addressed to?
I seem to remember someone saying that I need to make it clear that this is not a MR and also make clear this letter does not preclude me from requesting one after the DM has actually made a decision? Is my memory correct on this?
Should I mention in the letter that I have had an advocate help me with the letter (i.e. the incredible help I have obtained from this forum?).
Thank you for the further help as always.

Hi Boomer
You should address the letter to the Decision Maker and send it to the address on the DWP letter.
You are are correct 'I seem to remember someone saying that I need to make it clear that this is not a MR and also make clear this letter does not preclude me from requesting one after the DM has actually made a decision? Is my memory correct on this?'
What you are trying to do is preempt the assessors report and clarify any disputed information.
Personally I would not at this stage mention any advocate help, you can use this information if you need to do a MR.
If you have any other questions please come back to the forum.

Hello again and apologies for a couple of silly questions.
I've finally finished the letter to the DM to clarify some points the assessor mate in the PA4.
Should I write on the outside of the envelope that it's for the attention of the decision maker, or just put that at the start of the letter along with my PIP reference etc?
Also, should I put the reference number on the outside of the letter too?
Sorry, I over think these things. Just want to make sure the assigned DM, whoever it will be, does get to actually read the letter.
It will be sent recorded of course.
Thanks once more.

Sorry, forgot to mention, I don't actually know the DM's name of course so can't directly address it other than generically.
Thanks again.
Thanks again.
