"Invited" to Apply for PIP

Thank you for the reply, I am really gutted I didn't get a home visit, I noticed quite a few members seem to have offered one without asking, is there a reason why this hadn't happened in my case. I wrote about my limitations in quite some detail on the form and asked for a home visit in the event of needing a f2f. I feel like I have failed in some way.
How do I go about getting my GP to write/fax a letter as she only works part time and I don't stand a hope of getting an appointment with her in time. Thanks.

A decision to require a home assessment will depend on the detail of the information provided but in particular whether the AP believes that you can attend or not. If for example you have stated that you go shopping, even if it is on an irregular basis then you are less likely to be granted one.
Also, it can depend on the AP for your area, Capita perform a higher proportion of their assessments in the home than ATOS.
I'm afraid you are going to have to find some way around your GP's availability, would they write one without seeing you?

I made it very clear on my form, I rarely go out, have all my shopping delivered to my home, never go out unaccompanied etc etc, as I said I feel really gutted. I also sent in a copy of my latest ESA85A showing my mobility issues. I can't see what else I could have done to be honest.
I honestly thought I had gone into considerable detail with lots of additional information and supporting evidence. I am worried that going to the assessment will go against me as well as the psychological distress and physical problems it will involve.

Unfortunately your options are limited, if you don't attend then the most likely result is for your claim to be closed.
You really need to speak to your GP!
If you do have to attend at their offices then there are lots of things that you can do, have someone go with you to the appointment, have them drive you, they can be in the assessment with you.

I spoke to my surgery today, my GP is only there tomorrow am and has no appointments or phone consultations left and they can't apparently message her about my problem otherwise, she then has some slots the following week but I feel this is leaving it too late as the f2f is on the 29th.
The receptionist did say that another GP could try and sort something out for me, I did send a letter in about 3 weeks ago highlighting some of my problems, especially with social anxiety, mobilising and going out so these should be on my notes by now. So in theory it wouldn't need my own GP to send of a supporting letter. Another GP could do it for me, assuming they agree.
I will try and speak to someone tomorrow about this. If I do end up going to an assessment my husband who is also my carer will come with me, we don't have a car or access to one so will have to use a taxi, I don't care if Capita refund the fares or need to be consulted before hand. I will just pay myself. I can't get there any other way.

If the appointment on the 29th is the first appointment that has been booked then you can cancel it and ask for a new one, however, you will have to attend this one whenever or wherever it is. I would not cancel it until you are closer to the date.
Capita can refund the costs of a taxi but you need to get their agreement beforehand.
