This descriptor has been the cause of many a long debate. My own view is that DWP need to make it clear as to its meaning because the semantics of it can be argued for eternity, and a judge is irresponsible when not viewing it as such, as one can argue both ways as to what the descriptor does not refer to and what it does refer to.
In other words, THE DESCRIPTOR DOES NOT IMPLY THAT THE PERSON MUST ONLY BE PHYSICALLY UNABLE TO FOLLOW THE ROUTE, and THE TERM 'without another person', is not directly associated with the terms 'dog or other aid'.
Of course, DWP are very well aware of the problem regarding this descriptor and my guess is they have made it deliberately ambiguous because they can avoid being accused of discrimination while at the same time being able to deny us folks the 10 pointer.

This is not going to be resolved without a three Judge panel making a direction on the operation of the activity, which is not going to happen for some time.

Sent additional evidence for PIP MR via fast next day delivery today 21st.
Now, as my MR is being processed by Decision Maker as we speak, how soon is my new evidence likely to be entered on system and brought to his/her attention once received tomorrow?

Hi J,
See the following topic : Here , on how the DWP Mail Handling System operates.
It can take 7-14 days from receipt of your documents for the information to be scanned and sent to the appropriate DWP Dept :

When I sent my MR letter in Dec, the call desk acknowledged receiving it within 4 working days. Don't know if that meant they had it on the system after 4 days or were just handling it.
